The moon, the only satellite, of our planet will be positioned between us and the Sun, our System’s star, bringing upon us its shadow for a time period of more than 1 hour and plunging the small Greek island Kastellorizo into complete darkness for approximately four minutes.
After musing and pondering over the vastness of our Universe, the countless worlds out there, and the possible infinite simultaneous eclipses of the stars that will occur at that specific moment in time, we have come to think that possibly our focus is on an insignificant event of trifling value for the Universal world.
And yet, on this spectacular day, most people who live on our planet Earth will resume their daily activities pondering over their everyday problems and will disregard the occurrence of this marvelous phenomenon of the sky.
A four year old child, and his peaked curiosity following countless of questions on what is about to happen, was cause for us to change our way of thinking and thus our daily routine. He compelled us to lift our eyes to the sky and await the phenomenon which is about to happen. He impelled us to admire the beauty that our planet reserves for us every living second.
We were so fascinated by what we saw through this child’s eyes and thus became tempted in sharing this beauty with every single person who wishes to become a child again and admire a wonder of the world.
And, besides, this is truly our sincere intention in setting a meeting place and date for 29/3/06.
Simply ... just to lend you little Constantinos' eyes, through which all of us can look up high at the sun ... disappearing behind the moon ... and all of us back down on Earth ... children at heart ... under the moon’s shadow.
